Maruta Project
Keiji, an Imperial Japanese Army medic during World War 11, sets out on a routine mission; picking up infected Chinese civilians and bringing them back to base. Along the way he stumbles upon a downed American pilot, Edward. He brings him back to his father, Takeshi, who runs the facility; a medical experimentation camp. Keiji learns that the Soviet Army is drawing closer everyday to their base and that the American government is handing out immunity deals to Japanese doctors for their medical data. Edward is the first Caucasian patient they've acquired and their ace in the hole.

Keiji volunteers to help keep the American alive as long as possible so that the Takeshi can get as much data out of him. The more he takes care of the American pilot the more he sees that the enemy is a human being: just like him. This makes it hard for Keniji to preform his duty. The medic wants to prove himself to his father and carry on the family's military legacy; but his conscience gets in his way. Ultimately Keniji must make a decision before it's too late.
